　　想想看吧，这两道题目的答题时间只不过才有45秒的时间，“Firstly… Secondly… Finally…”，每个理由(方面)最多只有15秒的时间阐述。于是，如此的应答无论如何都无法做到“well developed”。而说出并组织三个理由(方面)实际上还有思考压力(想出三个理由有多么不容易，请参见《如何做到Well Organized--模式运用一例》)。

　　所以，应对口语考试部分前两道题的一个优势策略叫做“一又二分之一策略”。

　　具体来说，就是用2/3甚至更长的时间详细阐述(elaborate)一个主要理由(方面)，而又用1/3甚至更短的时间随便再加上一个理由(方面)。

　　比如，我的一位学生在考场上遇到的题目是这样的：

　　Which season do you like most? Why?

　　这位同学的回答干脆、简洁而又朴素：

　　I like winters most…

　　之后提供了一个理由：

　　… because there’s no mosquitoes in winters.

　　接下来说的大抵上都与蚊子有关(以下是该考生事后的回忆转述)：

　　夏天的时候，蚊子们非常可怕，我们住在19楼它们竟然也飞得上来。每天晚上睡觉前全家三口人都要想办法灭蚊子，可是用尽了各种手段也做不到消灭每一只蚊子。到了半夜，我总是被蚊子闹醒，每天都睡不好。我就感觉那些文字恨不得把我生生吃掉2 ……可是早上醒来，却发现爸爸妈妈都没事儿，真不知道蚊子们为什么字叮我一个人……

　　其实这位同学在考场上只这个理由就没有说完，刚说到“早上醒来却发现爸爸……”的时候，已经45秒钟用尽了。最终，这位同学的口语部分成绩是29分3 。

　　假设这位同学把这一个理由(方面)全都说完了之后发现刚刚用掉35秒钟，还有10来秒钟，那怎么办?很简单，接着说“In addition, …”然后再随便加上一个理由--这么做的思考压力实际上要比一口气说出三个理由小得多。比如后面可以接着说：

　　还有就是冬天会下雪，下雪的时候整个世界都会变得非常美丽，一切都显得那么纯洁……

　　其实，这个理由(方面)几乎注定是说不完的，因为无论如何时间分配给它的时间都太短。但这并无所谓，因为所做的一切已经足够满足口语考试的评分标准。

　　而托福口语考试的后四道题，都是在考核考生的“复述能力”。

　　对大多数考生来说，真正的难点并不在于“听不懂”或者是“读不懂”，而在于是否记得住。只要有足够的英文记忆力，能够记得住刚刚听懂的、读懂的内容，“转述”本身难度其实非常低，因为其中所需要的“措辞能力”是在练习作文的时候早就解决了的事情。平时多背背句子，其实并不是仅仅为了将来有机会“直接用到”那么肤浅，而是为了不断扩充自己的“内存”大小，提高自己的英文记忆力，进而在各个方面都有意外的斩获。
